This course is to prepare internal change agents and external consultants to

  1. Lead an enterprise agile transformation
  2. Implement the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe)
  3. Train managers and executives in Leading SAFe and act as a SAFe Agilist (SA) certifying agent
  4. Train teams in SAFe ScrumXP for Teams and act as a SAFe Practioner (SP) certifying agent

  1. 5+ years of experience in software development, testing, business analysis, product or project management
  2. 3+ years of experience in Agile
  3. One or more relevant Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, CSPO, CSP, CSC, CST,, DSDM, ICAgile, PMI-ACP)


  1. Attend the 4-day SPC Certification Class
  2. Pass the SPC exam (retakes are $850 and can be taken 60 days or more after the previous exam)
  • Apply lean, agile and product development flow principles to improve productivity, employee engagement, time to market, and quality
  • Apply the Scaled Agile Framework based on lecture, real-world examples, and insights by Scaled Agile experts
  • Understand the skills necessary for an enterprise transformation based on the information and examples presented, and additional recommended readings and resources
  • Gain the insights into the leadership skill most effective in unlocking the intrinsic motivation of software development knowledge workers, and begin applying them in your context
  • Find the value streams around which to organize the enterprise’s Agile Release Trains
  • Prepare the organization and the teams to launch the trains
  • Run the first Release Planning Meeting
  • Interact at key program touch-points to "help keep the train on the tracks”
  • Run Inspect and Adapt workshops for continuous program improvement
  • Introduce the organization to the principles of program portfolio management and agile architecture
  • Grow the leadership skills necessary to support the transformation

Kiran Sankara
SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
Kiran is a strategist, consultant, instructor, leader, and mentor who has been applying Lean and Agile practices in and beyond the software industry throughout his career. With his passion and complete trust towards Scaled Agile Framework, Kiran went on to Scaled Agile headquarters at Boulder City, CO and worked out his way to become Bronze partner with SAI and got local presence for SAFe at Hyderabad. He worked in different roles across the IT industry for the last 20years across various Geographies, from core Techie to Project Manager, Program Manage, Delivery Manager, Heading Large and Complex programs as Program Director, Setting up PMOs as PMO Director, and many other achievements under his belt. He is one of the cheerleaders towards the transition from Waterfall to Agile in highly distributed multi-cultural environments. He then started to support other organizations and their leaders around the globe doing Agile transformations and making organizations more productive, engaging, and fun. Kiran’s experience and expertise spans across four governing boards, PMI (PMP and PMP ACP), Scrum Alliance (CSM and CSP), EXIM (ITIL) and SAFe Program Consultant (SPC). He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Maryland, USA

Day 1 & 2

  1. Learn about Leading SAFe
  2. Introduction and Understanding Principles and practices of the Scaled Agile Framework support
    • Agile Teams
    • Agile Programs
    • Agile Program Portfolio Management
    • Agile Architecture
  3. Lead an enterprise agile transformation by leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework and its underlying principles of lean thinking and product development flow.
  4. Prepare certified SAFe Program Consultants (SPCs) to teach the course and act as certifying agent for SAFe Agilist (SAs).

Day 3 & 4

  1. Implementing SAFe
  2. Gain and understand the knowledge needed to
    • Identify, Plan, Implement SAFe programs with Agile Release Trains
  3. Understand Value Streams.
    • Briefings, Artefacts and templates to identify Value Streams
  4. Prepare the Organization to launch
    • Agile programs
    • Plan and execute the major events
  5. Implement effective processes and measures for continuous program improvements
